Daniel's Eye Surgery!

Daniel's surgery on Monday couldn't have gone better! The orthopedic surgeon, Dr Piehl, took approximately 7cm of tendon off of the top of his right foot while the opthamologist created a muscle for his right lid. The nurses were great! Before the doctor's got there, Daniel enjoyed riding up and down the halls on all of the cars/wagons. After surgery, we were in and out of recovery in no time! The nurse sent him home with a dose of Tylenol w/ codeine so we figured he would be OUT for a few hours at least! NOT SO MUCH! He stayed up all day long but then crashed Monday night and slept through the night! His recovery so far has been fantastic! We haven't even bothered with anymore Tylenol. He has learned to walk around on his cast like a pro! I will try and get some pictures uploaded soon! Everyone has been really great about praying for us and calling or coming by to check on Daniel! We are so grateful to have such loving friends and family!

Holidays with the Bledsoes!

This year, Christmas and New Year's were huge blessings for our family. We kept it simple and enjoyed time with friends and family! Daniel got too many toys to list and really got into opening his presents this year! He had to help Daddy open his too!

Since my Grandma Crowley died January of last year, my dad's family gathered on December 13th (instead of Christmas day) to celebrate Christmas, as well as Grandma's birthday!

Here is a picture of my dad and his siblings and other pictures from the gathering:

Daniel also had his FIRST Christmas play at school! He wasn't too fond of the idea (He and his girlfriend, Katie, cried the whole time), but he was still cute as a button!

On a lighter note, Daniel has been doing extremely well with potty training during the holidays and has been wearing his big boy underwear pretty much 24/7!! He loves to inform people that he has them on! It's really cute!

Overall, we've had a wonderful and blessed 2009 and look forward to having an even better 2010!! God Bless!!!

FALL HAPPENINGS!

Life has been hectic yet fun-filled these last couple of months.....Let's see--where to begin:

  • Daniel has been sleeping in his big boy bed a couple of months now!
  • We're still working at the potty training thing; he goes in cycles!
  • Our house is still up for sale!
  • Dan has done alot of home improvements (including a new coat of paint in the kitchen and master bath!)
  • I've been consistently going to the gym AT LEAST 3 times a week (but not losing much weight b/c I'm not dieting the way I should)
  • We had a great HALLOWEEN with friends and family.
  • I had my 6 week follow up from my D&C last week and the doctor has given us the green light to "try again!"

I need to upload some more pictures but I have chosen to be "dumb" when it comes to transferring them to the computer because Dan always spoils me and does it for me! Thanks honey!

Other than that, we're just enjoying life one day at a time and trying not to let "everyday life" consume us!

Blighted Ovuum.....

So, I went to my "12 week" OB appointment yesterday to discover that there was no heartbeat to be found. When they did the ultrasound, they found just a sac w/ no embryo or fetus. It was so surreal to look at that screen and see nothing there. My heart sank to the floor and I realized that there was no child inside of me! The doctor said it is called a blighted ovuum. I suppose that's not as hard as seeing an actual fetus on the screen that has no heartbeat. I feel so frustrated and confused but I know that this is God's will for our lives right now; and that He will give us another child when the time is just right! I have to have a D&C tomorrow morning to clear out the sac and tissue. Please keep our family in your prayers over the next couple of days. Today is Dan's birthday and this weekend is my 10 year high school reunion. I thought about still going to it just to get my mind off of things and try to have a good time. So....we'll see.

I'm hoping to post some recent pictures eventually. Daniel had a wonderful 2nd birthday party and we just had a really nice trip to Savannah with MiMi and Pop Pop. So, as for the Bledsoes....we will still keep living life and WILL get through this hardship. I am so thankful/grateful to have a wonderful husband, awesome 2 year old and a strong faith in Christ. That is what really matters!!!

Growing so fast!!

Both of our children (man, that sounds really weird to say both) are growing so fast!!

I just ordered Daniel his big boy bed!! Once it comes in, we'll be moving him to his new BIG BOY room!! I hope he loves the bed we picked out for him!

Our little bun in the oven is now bigger than a coffee bean and has accomplished some tremendous milestones already!! I am still doing great as far as morning sickness and weight gain go!! So, hopefully I can keep it up!

We're trying to plan a trip up to see Leslie in Virginia soon before I get too far along! I'm dying to see little Greer!! She is sooooo precious in the pictures!!

Amazing Progression....

So, I bought a pregnancy journal like the one I had when I was pregnant w/ Daniel. The coolest thing about this past week during my pregnancy is the fact that the baby's heart is already beating! WOW! He/She can fit on the eraser of a pencil! So cool!

Daniel used the potty really well today! Ms Wilson (at daycare) wants to start putting him in big boy underwear next month!! He still astounds me with his vocabulary and comprehension of things on a daily basis. He recognizes people, places and sounds really well.

Dan and I have alot of planning and adjusting to do over the next several months. We have have to think of where and how we're going to fit another human being in our house. We have to prepare our budget for another daycare tuition, formula, diapers, savings, etc!! So, with the help of God and each other, we'll make it through!
